Hello! I'm a Durham University graduate with a First Class (Hons.) Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages & Cultures, with several years of experience teaching both children and adults in a range of subjects and topics. My specialism is languages and linguistics, but I also have experience in a variety of subjects at GCSE and Primary Level!
Private Academic Tutor (Telios Tutors, Self-Employed) - 2020
Private English Tutor (Self-Employed), Barcelona, Spain, Part-Time (2019)
Experience tutoring students of varied ages in English as a Second Language.
Teaching Assistant, Ribble Valley Dance, Part-Time (2012-2014)
Experience teaching children ages 2-18; assisting the teaching of large classes and individual mentoring where required.
My teaching style is largely based in immersion as much as possible when teaching languages beyond beginner's level, as this helps to situate the student in the language and culture of the target language. The most important thing is that the student is able to engage with the subject matter and the study, and that means enjoying it! This is why I like to get to know my students to tailor specific subject matters to them, and integrate traditional study throughout a more natural and contemporary teaching process.
