I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University and built a success full career in IT. I have always enjoyed maths – something I passed on to my children, my son now working as a Maths teacher. I now work as a full time tutor which I find extremely rewarding and enjoyable. I am very patient and nurturing and aim to make the lessons fun for my students. They are encouraged to work to their potential, whatever level that may be.
I am a very experienced tutor having worked in this field for the past 12 years. The vast majority of my students have achieved or exceeded their target grade. I have worked with pupils from most of the local schools and the majority come via direct referral, something I am very proud of.
I find that many of my students lack confidence. They are often having problems at school because they have missed some vital techniques and now find themselves floundering. I begin at a level which is comfortable for them and at which they can achieve success. We then build on this foundation, fill in the gaps, and hopefully they begin to catch up at school. I will set homework if you wish.
I am equally comfortable with high achievers and have worked with many pupils to gain the very highest grades. I am familiar with the curriculum for all of the exam boards.
I am happy to tutor online or in person at my home.
Adults are very welcome too!
