I am a friendly and enthusiastic Ofsted (2022) ‘Outstanding’ Grade 1 ALPS A Level English teacher with a wealth of tried and tested bespoke resources. Having led the English Department at Greenhead College, I have made the decision to reduce my hours so that I can now pursue other creative opportunities. I like to be busy, so I tutor GCSE and A Level English students, in addition to my classroom teaching and love it!

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English for 20 years and currently teach A Level English Language and A Level Language and Literature (Combined) at Greenhead College, Huddersfield. My subject specialism is A Level English Language. I have a 95% A* - B and 100% A*-C pass rate.

Tutoring Approach

My key approach is to teach through context, so you will be learning through the study of written and spoken texts, rather than learning abstract concepts without practical application. We will be working with an extensive range of tried and tested resources, including past papers, mark schemes and model answers and you’ll receive detailed weekly feedback on tasks.
