Hello,
I am a private tutor who also works as a teaching assistant within primary schools. I am regarded as an expert in working with SEN children. My knowledge of SEN stems from my own personal experience, experience from supporting SEN within schools, extensive research and from listening to the voices of fellow neurodiverse people.
My journey tutoring originally began by a request from the parent of a former student. Fortunately, I really enjoyed my experience tutoring and I wish to expand my clientele further.
I have over 4 years of teaching experience working within primary schools as both a teacher and a teaching assistant.
I have been self employed since September 2022 working as a private tutor alongside my teaching assistant job.
I am very experienced in teaching phonics programs, I am able to teach both Read Write Inc and Floppy Phonics interventions.
My approach to teaching is adaptable. I ensure to adapt my teaching to the needs of my students.
I always aim to build a strong positive relationship with my students. As I specialise in working with ADHD/ASD children, I always make sure to learn their special interests and to incorporate them into my teaching.
I also have a consistent approach to managing behaviour. I use positive behaviour management strategies to help my students build confidence and develop a love for learning.
