I am qualified English and Media teacher who has been involved in teaching for 6 years. I have also coached rugby and run numerous clubs. I enjoy working with kids to achieve their maximum potential and I am particularly comfortable working with pupils who struggle within a subject.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English. I have also taught National 4, National 5 and Higher Media. In the last 3 years I have tutored 4 children at National 5 and Higher English who all passed with a B or higher.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer to encourage pupils to lead their tutoring, telling me where they feel they need assistance. This way they are growing more and more confident in identifying where they need help and are involved in planning how they will develop and further their learning. That said, I am also aware some pupils need a little more support, especially early on, so I also have a very structured tutoring programme covering all components of the course if pupils want a more comprehensive system of support.
