I am a PhD student at the University of Bristol’s Quantum Engineering Centre for
Doctoral training. My research is in the field of Cold Matter, specifically
experimental atomic physics. I recently built an experiment that produced the
coldest place ever recorded in Bristol at around 100 micro Kelvins, 0.001
degrees celsius above absolute zero.
I have been tutoring for 5 years now,
taking on students (mainly privately) from the age of 8 all the way to
undergraduate second year Physics students. In Leeds I ran a tutoring agency in
which I resourced University students on tutoring work with younger students who
would get in touch. Having recently moved to Bristol, I do not have a large
network so sourcing private students has been difficult, hence why I am now
myself applying to agencies. I currently also work for Clifton Tutors, I have 2
year 10 maths students, at 5 hours a week, with this agency. However, I am still
looking to grow and take on more students. I prefer to tutor Physics, which I
can tutor at any level, including undergraduate, but I am also happy to take on
Maths students up to A-Level level.
Exam question based. Students are taught how to answer exam questions from day one, I believe the best way to get results is to install a clear and structured methodology into a students mind about how to read, interpret and answer questions, in an efficient manor that ensures high exam performance.
