I graduated with a masters in maths in 2024 (first class), and I want to share my love of maths to others. I believe that confidence is the most important aspect of succeeding at mathematics, and that with encouragement and directed support, students can achieve far more than they think themselves capable of. I love solving problems, and want to emphasise the skills of problem solving over memorisation. I am also a keen musician, with a distinction at grade 8 piano, a merit at grade 7 violin, experience in steel bands and orchestras, and I'm working towards a teaching diploma in piano. I also enjoy indoor climbing.
After graduating in 2024, I have been tutoring both in primary schools and adult education. I have also been undergoing teaching assistant training, and have worked in a primary school as part of this.
I like to work through problems together with the student, encouraging them to articulate their reasoning, thereby improving their understanding and confidence. I am calm, quiet and patient, and responsive to the student's individual needs.
