I am a private tutor with nearly 20 years of primary school experience. I hold a degree in Geography and Environmental Management and a PGCE in Primary Years Teaching. I am a husband and father, a keen 5K runner and reader and on Sundays I support the Kids’ learning session at church.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught across the primary age range and have considerable experience of supporting pupils with different abilities and needs. I have been a deputy head and SENDCo and have a good understanding of how to get the best out of children. I am passionate about helping them to overcome barriers to learning and building their self-esteem.

I have taught all ages within primary school. I am particularly adept at preparing children for upper KS2/SATs, ensuring they are secondary school-ready.

I can help with primary-age Reading, Writing or Maths. I am also conversant with the 11+ syllabus and can provide tuition tailored to meet the requirements of the exam.

I can provide support towards a specific goal such as Year 6 SATs or more generally for catching up or developing confidence

Tutoring Approach

I provide face-to-face tuition. My sessions are friendly and individually-tailored to meet each child’s needs.
