• I have worked as Head of RS at an ISI rated ‘excellent in all areas’ independent school in West London.
• Cambridge graduate (Theology and Religious Studies)
• PGCE from King's College London
• I have been a professional teacher since leaving university, including work across both independent and state sectors and in both co-ed and single sex schools.
• Excellent exam results across GCSE and A Level (including Value Added scores of +1.7 in both 2018 and 2019 as well as 100% A/A* grades at A Level in 2019)
• I have been teaching for the last 11 years, including 5 years as head of Department.
• I have taught the GCSE course under both AQA and OCR covering Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and Sikhism.
• I have taught each of the Philosophy, Ethics and Christian Thought papers at A Level.
• My exam results have been consistently some of the best in an ‘excellent’ school.
• I have privately tutored children through successful university application (including Oxbridge), as well as RS or Philosophy specific tutoring and broader study-skills support.
My tutoring approach is very much led by the needs of the individual student, as each child is unique. This may include support with developing a more sophisticated writing style or spending time unpacking the abstract concepts found in RS/Philosophy over more time than can be allowed for in lessons.
My aim is always to encourage young people to think for themselves, explore new ideas and mature in their understanding.
