I’m a second-year Physicist at the University of Oxford, offering tutoring in Maths, Further Maths, Spanish, and Physics. I left school with A* grades in all four subjects at A level. I look forward to sharing the knowledge and approach to learning that can help students significantly improve their grades — and, hopefully, inspire at least a healthy relationship with these subjects, if not a love for them! I also offer guidance for the Oxford Physics application process, including the PAT and interview.
Since February this year, I’ve taught over 90 hours of online lessons, working regularly with students preparing for their GCSE and A-level exams — both those cramming last minute and those needing longer-term support. Before that, I volunteered to tutor GCSE Spanish at school.
Beyond formal tutoring, I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn, and I like to think my school and university friends feel comfortable coming to me with questions about their work.
I always take a patient approach, creating an atmosphere in which students feel encouraged to give their ideas on problems, even when they are still getting to grips with new content. More than anything, I want students to want to turn up to our lessons—not just feel obligated to.
Between lessons, I encourage students to tackle questions focused on key ideas that gain the most marks and target their areas of difficulty. In this way, I can see how the way a student verbally expresses ideas in class translates onto paper, and into marks, regardless of whether they have access to a digital pen to write with in lessons.
