After initially saying he would be able to teach our daughter (and we paid first tutors finders fee) John then decided he could not proceed and teach as everything being online would make lesson preparation too time consuming, and he believed my daughter wouldn’t get lessons of ‘true value’.

John helped my son build his confidence in his ability to do maths, which was not an easy task!. John was always professional, reliable and flexible.His approach to teaching, helped my son to feel relaxed and build confidence, which facilitated learning.I would recommend John as a tutor for maths.

John provided a sound back up for A level physics when my son was really struggling. He provided lessons which were key to understanding and made concepts easy to apply. He was always prompt, delivered the lesson for the required length of time and my son was very happy with his tuition. The end result was a sound pass in the subject which had worried my son the most. Highly recommended

John tutored my son in GCSE mathematics for the first year of the new grading scheme (numbers rather than letters).

My son was tracking for a level 4 (low C) following his mock exams. He needed a minimum level 6 to go on and study A-Level Economics. He was told by his teachers that it was unlikely he'd achieve his 'aspirational' goal at a one-to-one meeting to discuss his A-Level options, so he should pick another A-Level instead.

I accept it was a big ask in short period of time to up his game not just by one level, but two. However, John provided excellent advice, guidance and tutoring - most specifically giving my son tips as to how to best handle questions and tackle exam papers. I have no doubt this played a huge part in him achieving his level 6 and I doubt he would have made this progress without this assistance and support.

John was very natural and relaxed in his approach which suited our son down to the ground. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
