I have a Ph.D background and have been teaching secondary school maths since 2015. I teach all years and abilities but particularly focus on those students who are aiming for the higher grades in maths and further maths.
I completed my Ph.D. in 2015 and have been teaching full time since where I teach students from year 6-13. I am comfortable teaching for all the exam boards but have been primarily teaching for the Edexcel exam board for GCSE and A-level, but have also repeatedly tutored for AQA and OCR A-levels.
My typical lesson format will be primarily identifying weaker areas and then teaching that topic to a high standard. We will then focus on exam style questions ensuring that the student is confident answering all the different styles of question that could be asked in their exams.
I will then typically set a number of similar questions for the student to work on before our next lesson which we then review. This ensures that learning is not limited to the time we directly spend together.
Zoom lessons (or similar) can also be made available online after the lesson so the student can review any part of the lessons as needed.
