My name is John and I have been teaching for 24 years. Teaching is a job I truly enjoy, the buzz you get when a student learns a new skill is the reason the profession is so rewarding. I currently work in a secondary school as a teacher of ICT and Business.

Tutoring Experience

As an experienced teacher I have an outstanding track record of getting excellent results for the students I teach at GCSE and A’Level. I teach a variety of subjects; ICT, I-Media, Business Studies and Sports Studies. I have worked as a Senior Teacher (Assistant Head) for 5 years and been Head of Subject for 15 years as well. Apart from academic qualifications I also have many coaching qualifications in a variety of sports.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is that of a coach, I am a firm believer that learners perform better and learn more when actively engaged in their learning. If I was to be your tutor I would ensure that you are actively engaged by doing activities that promote progress. Learning is as much about doing, as it is understanding. This is how I teach and motivate my students. I also teach adults skills in ICT and computing. I have taught adults skills in spreadsheets and database including basic Accounting skills. I have experience in all Microsoft applications and have skills in Serif, Adobe, Audacity & Movie Maker.
