Hi there, I'm John.
I'm a scientist with a postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences. I have been tutoring science for 5 years, my lessons are structured and focused yet light-hearted and enjoyable and I strive to motivate and inspire my students to grow in confidence and ambition day by day. I believe that a sound understanding of your subject and performing in exams can only be achieved through a holistic approach. I have found a student who feels confident, self assured and calm is the most equipped to reach their potential. Furthermore as the needs of each young person is unique, a carefully tailored approach is best applied, concentrating on any troublesome areas of the science curriculum that would most assist them in attaining their science goals!
I look forward to hearing from you.
I have a 5 years experience tutoring students in KS3 and GCSEs. I have A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography, an undergraduate degree in Zoology and an MSc in population ecology.
I have loved being able to transfer my knowledge and skills to students, it brings me great pride that I can in a small way help shape the eduction of a young person. Tuition techniques I like to apply in my lessons include active recall, advanced exam technique and spaced repetition. Together with a personalised study plan I ensure my students have the capacity to unlock and achieve their full potential.
