I have worked professionally as an actor since leaving LAMDA in 1998, and am still currently working. I have experience to share from working extensively in theatre, radio (I've been in The Archers for 22 years, as well as numerous radio plays), tv, film, voiceovers and commercials. I also sit on the audition panel at the entry auditions for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre school, so I am well placed to help those wishing to prepare speeches for drama school.
My teaching experience has been working on audition speeches with potential drama students, and in directing young adults during their auditions for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
I approach my work with actors as a fellow actor, and try to give suggestions that will unlock their imaginations. I have worked with some incredible directors and theatre practitioners over the years, and draw on all of their wisdom, and my training, my experience of over 24 years as a working actor, and my acting experiences (such as the Edinburgh Festival, and the NYT and Pleasance Youth) in the years preceding drama school.
