I hold a BSc in Anthropology from University College London (UCL) and an MSc in Human Resources and Organisations from the London School of Economics (LSE). Currently, I am working full-time in a multinational professional services company in Canary Wharf, London. Since moving to the UK in 2015, I have immersed myself in both the academic and professional landscapes, gaining a deep understanding of both English and Chinese language. With a passion for supporting others in their learning journeys, I aim to offer valuable insights and guidance through my diverse educational background and international experiences.

Tutoring Experience

In 2017, I had the opportunity to teach English to non-English speakers in China, where I focused on preparing students for the IELTS and TOEFL exams. Later, in the UK, I volunteered at SOAS, where I engaged in teaching Mandarin, further enriching my experience. This allowed me to share my passion for languages while helping students from different ages and backgrounds to gain confidence in their Mandarin proficiency. Both experiences have strengthened my teaching abilities and deepened my appreciation for the nuances of cross-cultural education.

Tutoring Approach

As a native Mandarin speaker, I have advantages in offering authentic pronunciation, tone, and accent, which helps students grasp the correct pronunciation and improve their listening skills. My deep cultural insights allow me to provide rich context, explaining idioms, slang, and cultural nuances that textbooks can't, making the language more engaging and meaningful. I also offer personalized feedback to address students' specific challenges and accelerate their learning.
