About Me
Hello! I'm Jess — a friendly, engaging tutor with a BA in Spanish, French and Business from a Russell Group university. I specialize in teaching French and Spanish to children, teenagers, and adult beginners, helping students build confidence in speaking, listening, and understanding these beautiful languages.
I’ve lived in Málaga, Spain and Aix-en-Provence, France, which gave me first-hand experience of the language, lifestyle, and culture. My grandparents have lived in rural southwest France for over 20 years, so French culture has been part of my life from an early age — and I love sharing those cultural insights in my lessons!
My lessons are tailored to suit each learner, whether we’re preparing for GCSE, building a foundation for younger learners, or learning just for fun. For children, I use songs, games, and stories. For older learners, I mix grammar, vocabulary, and conversational practice in a relaxed, supportive way.
Outside of tutoring, I’m a runner and rugby fan, a huge animal lover, and passionate about helping students enjoy language learning as much as I do.
If you're looking for a tutor who is patient, creative, and enthusiastic — I'd love to support your learning journey in Spanish or French!
I’ve tutored Spanish and French to children and beginners, helping them build confidence in the basics of speaking, reading, and understanding the language. I really enjoy working with young learners or those just starting out, and I always aim to make lessons fun, supportive, and tailored to the individual.
I studied Spanish, French, and Economics at university and spent time living in Spain and France, which gave me a deeper understanding of the language and culture — something I love bringing into my sessions.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking for a bit of extra support at school, I’d be happy to help!
My approach is all about building confidence and enjoyment — I focus on making each lesson feel approachable, relaxed, and tailored to the student’s pace and interests.
For younger learners, I often use games, visuals, and simple conversation practice to keep things engaging and memorable. For teens or adult beginners, I include a balance of grammar, vocabulary, and real-world context, with plenty of encouragement along the way.
I strongly believe that language learning should feel fun and achievable, not intimidating. Whether you’re learning for school, travel, or just personal interest, I’ll adapt each session to help you feel supported and motivated.
