I moved to Jersey in 2021 to complete my Masters degree in Island Biodiversity and Conservation. Since completion I have decided to remain on this beautiful sunny isle! I have a strong background in biological sciences, specialising in ecology, conservation and climate science.
I believe learning should be as enjoyable as it is educational. My approach to teaching is fun, open, and adaptable—designed to spark curiosity and foster a genuine love for science. By breaking down complex topics into engaging, relatable concepts, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions, explore ideas, and deepen their understanding of the natural world.
I have diverse experience in science education and outreach, having volunteered with the WISE Outreach Programme and Jersey Marine Conservation, where I taught primary school students about scientific and ecological topics through fun, activity-based learning. I have also tutored biology and maths at GCSE and A-level, tailoring lessons to suit individual needs, and was an active member of a peer support group at university, helping fellow students navigate challenging concepts. Additionally, I write adaptations of research papers to make scientific knowledge more accessible to general audiences, reflecting my commitment to fostering understanding and engagement with science at all levels.
I believe that science is for everyone and take pride in making complex ideas accessible and engaging. As a tutor, my goal is to inspire curiosity, support learning, and empower students to deepen their understanding of the environment and its intricate connections. I create specialised lessons, tailored for each individual.
