Hello. My name is Jenny and I am an experienced Humanities Teacher, specialising in History and Classics. I have been teaching for over 13 years.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently Head of Humanities in an London school rated as "outstanding" where i am responsible for History, Geography, Classics and RS across all three key stages. Previously to this I was Lead Teacher of History, designing and implementing schemes of work for KS3, KS4 and post 16. I have also had extensive experience in differentiation both in terms of lesson planning and assessment. I have also been an examiner for AQA and Edexcel which has given me in-depth understanding of GCSE and A level specification requirements; experience which i have used to improve pupil performance.

Tutoring Approach

I have been a tutor for over 10 years. I am a great advocate of a personalised approach when it comes to tutoring. I use information supplied by my tutees together with my own assessments in order to explore weaker areas, both in terms of exam skills and subject knowledge. I then produce a personalised plan on how to address these areas within a time frame that will enable my tutees to take their exams confidently and achieve their potential.
