Jennifer

I am a qualified teacher who is passionate about helping children develop into kind, respectful, happy human beings; it is the happy child who will learn better and faster. I have worked as a full time primary school teacher for almost 30 years and, during this time, I have taught the entire primary range from Foundation to Year 6, specialising in the Junior range. This has been a rewarding and inspirational journey as well as giving me an excellent understanding of the progression of skills and knowledge.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking, listening to music, dancing and playing my piano.

Tutoring Experience

During my career, I have taught the entire primary curriculum in a wide range of settings including state and independent schools. I have also delivered one to one tutoring in English and music. My experience has ensured that I have remained up to date with developments in the programmes of study and approaches to learning as well as taking responsibility for the leadership of Music, Science and DT.

Tutoring Approach

Learning should be relevant, fun and develop thinking skills. I guide children through their learning by encouraging questioning, to challenge and develop a child's current thinking and reach solutions to problems in a manner and pace tailored to each individual.
