I work as an Assistant Director of Science in an outstanding school, and the CEO of an educational charity. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE as well as Biology and Environmental Science to A'level. After 15 years of teaching experience I have been observed to be an outstanding teacher and have won awards from the Science Museum London. I have an in-depth experience with most of the major exam boards including OCR, AQA and Edexcel. I was made a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts in 2020. I have a passion for learning and I enjoy helping students reach their potential. I believe I have a calm and methodical nature which students seem to find helpful.
I enjoy helping children to understand how to learn, and become more confident and independent with their education.
In my spare time I enjoy playing with my two young daughters, cycling, and playing the guitar.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I have been teaching for 15 years:
KS3 - Biology, Chemistry and Physics
KS4 - Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
KS5 - Biology, Environmental Science and sixth form tutor, including UCAS personal statement guidance and support.
Personal tutor.
My approach is systematic and methodical with a focus on organisation, detail and confidence building around exam technique. I would normally start by taking the student through a syllabus audit to pinpoint areas of weakness to be targeted. Students would say I am a calm and approachable person who quite likes to make life as fun and as interesting as possible.
I like to be able to give interesting real-life examples of problems and show how different disciplines are always interconnected. It is always my aim to inspire children to become self motivated learners. As well as direct tuition I can also provide past papers, question booklets, exam and revision techniques, as well as advice on effective day-to-day study methods.
