I am a graduate and post graduate of Birmingham University and the University of Brighton and have degrees in Physics with Astrophysics, Computer Science and Education. My education degree is a PGCE with a specialism in secondary science. I also work at the Observatory Science Centre where I run the planetarium, provide lecture courses and outreach programmes for schools across the South East of Britain. I also provide volunteer services for local schools to help with their literacy programmes.
Since my first degrees I have worked in research in the University of Birmingham, commercial computing, teaching and now at the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux.
I have provided literacy education in primary schools, outreach programmes visiting primary and secondary schools and outreach programmes for schools visiting the Observatory Science Centre. Since moving from university and commercial work into education I have taught at St Gregory's Catholic Comprehensive in Tunbridge Wells and Uplands Community College in Wadhurst. I have taught all science discipline up to GCSE and Physics up to A level. I have also taught adult groups in specialist courses at the Observatory.
I believe in offering individual or small group tutoring where the tutoring can be tailored to the needs of the student. Tutoring is always structured to focus on the specific student needs and the needs of the curriculum they are following. The first session is offered for free and is to gauge the aims of the student.
