HIGHLY EXPERIENCED PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER
Hello! I am currently teaching in a number of schools on a part-time basis. This now enables me to offer my 1:1 tutoring services whilst also knowing the current methodologies used in primary schools. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and helping to establish great foundations to life long learning. I am adept at tailoring teaching methods to suit an individual's needs.

Tutoring Experience

I have loved being a teacher for well over 25 years. I have successfully taught classes from Nursery aged children up to Year 6 Juniors.
I have extensive knowledge of Phonic schemes and strategies for reading and writing improvement. In person, I have tutored privately in both English and Maths at Key Stage 1 and 2. The development of English and Literacy skills is my area of expertise. In order to keep challenging myself, I recently completed a TEFL course with a view to also offering teaching English as an additional language to young learners on-line.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching and tutoring is that it will be an enjoyable, affirming process. All learners will come to me with existing skills and interests and together we will use these attributes to develop those areas which have been highlighted as a desire to improve on . Prior to my teacher training, I was a drama student and still hold an Equity card. The use of 'drama', 'performance interaction' and the creative arts as superb vehicles for learning has remained with me throughout my career. On-line or locally in person, I will do all I can to foster an enthusiasm for personal learning with significant progress being achieved!
