Apart from teaching English, and other subjects, I have been a painter for over twenty five years and am currently writing a book about the landscape painter, John Constable. I have four children, none of whom have one artistic element in their characters!
I have been teaching English for almost twenty years. For the last seven, I taught Italian university students and worked as a private tutor. Previously, in the UK, I taught at an F.E. college, Secondary and Language schools. I have also taught in a Prison and Special School. I am now teaching part-time at an Exeter language school and occasional Pre-sessional courses at Exeter university.
I am a Cambridge University examiner for English, have a current DBS Certificate and Qualified Teacher Status.
I can quickly establish a friendly, enthusiastic working relationship with all ages and levels of ability. I employ experiential methods when teaching
a balance of all the language skills. I use diverse media and strategies to engage students’ interest in learning language and to define the specific areas of language each individual needs to develop their skills base.
