Jakob

I'm Jakob a full time photographer and studio manager. A few years ago I started a business called Cloud House Studios which is a portrait studio located in Dalston London and Bristol. I also pursue a range of creative endeavors and have previously been commissioned by Birmingham City Council and SHOUT arts festival for exhibition.

Tutoring Experience

I have given guest lectures on my experiences at Birmingham City University, done extra curricular classes for children in BATH and currently run adult beginners photography classes at my studio in Dalston.

Tutoring Approach

I offer a relaxed, friendly and hands on approach to learning photography. I believe its about getting involved, finding your direction and learning through your mistakes. Photography is about expression so its important to be given the tools and guided whilst molding our own directives. I help people by relating my experiences and getting them to use it in their personal situations. I have a studio in Dalston with different backgrounds and lighting equipment that is available to use.
I teach people of varying skill levels, whether they want to get to grips with their DSLR camera and learn the basic functions of manual, or perhaps they'd like to work on lighting and develop certain studio photography skills. I'm also here to advise on photography as a business and different routes that you can take to progress in this line of work.
