Hi, my name is Jade, I am a qualified Science teacher and I teach all three Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) at KS3 and Combined Science GCSE. I am confident with both the AQA and Edexcel Exam Boards.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 10 years of experience teaching in state schools. I am currently Second in Science and my role is to help develop teaching and learning within my department. I have also worked as a Head of Year and completed an NPQML with a focus on developing a growth mindset in students to raise progress.

Tutoring Approach

In my experience, I have found that a strong, positive teacher-student relationship is essential in order to develop confidence and maximise learning. I will always ensure students are comfortable by being patient and taking the time to get to know their interests, areas of strength and those that require some development. I believe that learners are unique and so I am always more than happy to adapt my explanations and/ or lesson structure to best suit the individual.

During a tutoring session you should expect a combination of direct instruction on key concepts, learner led activities, questioning and exam practice questions. I am happy to set homework if desired.
