I am passionate about maths and physics, and love to spread that passion with students. I completed a masters and then a doctorate in mathematical physics at Oxford, and want to share that knowledge.
I have given in person tutorials for two years at Oxford to students at Merton College, covering topics from special relativity to electromagnetism and thermal physics. I have also been part of a Summer mentor scheme aimed to help secondary school students to apply for Maths at Oxford and Cambridge.
I am available to teach via Zoom or Skype, whichever is best for you.
I believe it is very important to understand the unique position every learner is in, so our first lesson would be a more informal chat where we can get to know each other and figure out your goals. Then we can work out what subject areas to focus more on.
I think an important aspect of learning maths and physics especially is making sure you have mastery of one piece of content before moving on, since higher level concepts inevitably end up requiring lower level concepts or students will just end up confused. Schools have large classrooms so cannot make sure every student has this mastery before moving on, but with one on one tutoring we can work out any weak areas and practise them to improve your confidence before moving on.
