I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.i degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I am currently studying for a master's degree in Law. I am an experienced tutor who can offer services for English, Mathematics, 11+/13+, Politics and Government, Economics, Philosophy/RE, Business Studies, Verbal Reasoning, History, and English as a foreign language.
I have a wide variety of tutoring experience. I have done a lot of work helping students through admissions tests such as the 11+ and 13+ as well as A level entrance tests. I also conduct mock Oxford PPE interviews every year and mentor students through university application stages such as personal statement, preparation for admissions tests, and developing interviewing techniques.
I also have experience teaching a variety of subjects: Politics and Government, Mathematics, English Literature, History, Economics/Business Studies and Philosophy. I am particularly well regarded for the Politics and Government A-Level.
Lastly, having achieved my TEFL qualification (Teach English as a Foreign Language), I am well placed to teach english as a foreign language at any level. I have worked extensively with Chinese students on improving their english fluency, working towards admissions tests and IELTS.
My approach to tutoring focuses on building the confidence of the students I have. I believe that students who feel confident in their work always perform better. I am a fun and friendly tutor who can quickly build up repore with students, however, I also push students to build up their skills and be the best they can be.
My Oxford education has taught me the value of pushing beyond the boundaries of a syllabus, I try to encourage students to see the bigger picture of what they are studying and develop a passion for their subject.
