Hi, I'm Henry. I'm from Sheffield, I'm 20 years old and I'm a third year student at Durham University studying Philosophy. I have A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Religious Studies and have volunteered in the classroom and worked as a private tutor in the past.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutoring experience, particularly working with students aged 14-18. I have worked mainly with students who are aiming to bring their marks up to a pass (4-5/C), but do have some experience working with students aiming for 8-9/A*.

I ran revision sessions during my GCSEs and A-Level studies for students my age and below, and helped out in GCSE and AS-level classes for RS and Geography. In these roles, I have mainly focused on exam technique and essay writing skills, in order to get students to a pass in their given subject(s).

I also have practice coaching students through their coursework requirements and writing style, e.g. for the Geography NEA at A-Level.

I can also offer mentoring/coaching through the application process to university, and applications to internships/grad-schemes, with particular expertise in the application process for the Big 4.

Tutoring Approach

I will work with you to find out which content/questions you feel you need the most help with in a free consultation session, and tailor any sessions afterwards directly to your needs and areas of interest.

I also have a focus on exam technique. I will make sure that you are prepared for each style of question and know exactly what the examiner expects from you. This is the best way to make sure that you are as relaxed as possible going into the exam and can pick up as many marks as possible.

I charge £18 per hour of contact because I will make each session unique and create resources to aid your learning. £8 of the fee is dedicated to this process of planning lessons and creating resources, whilst the remaining £10 covers travel and teaching time.
