Experienced, Masters and Bachelor of science degree-qualified, DBS-cleared tutor with real life experience working in the life science in dustry in the UK and overseas. I continue to work in this field on a freelance basis, and also work as a tutor as I love the challenge of bringing the best out of young learners and inspiring them to have confidence in their abilities.
I have been tutoring privately (online and in person) for over a year. Before that, I have completed three months' full time teacher training in a secondary school, including; planning and delivering lessons, creating and sourcing teaching resources, with frequent assessment, monitoring and feedback from mentors and senior teachers.
From working in biopharmaceuticals I also have three years' experience training clinical research professionals in Japan on complex international regulatory requirements and clinical operations procedures for carrying out global clinical trials. This involved careful planning and consideration of content and methods of training, as well as delivery in a clear and engaging manner.
I use my combination of academic qualifications and 'real life' industry and public health experience, along with a passion for the life sciences with the aim of motivating pupils by teaching in an engaging style, using real life examples to bring the subjects to life as much as possible.
I also teach students exam technique where necessary, to help them approach exams and assessments as well prepared, confidently and calmly as possible.
