I have worked in primary schools since 2012. Initially I was a teaching assistant before undertaking a degree in supporting children in primary schools. After I completed this I remained as a teaching assistant until 2021 when I decided to do my PGCE so that I could become a teacher. I also have three children of my own who are 25, 21 and 19.
I am about to enter my 4th year as a teacher in a primary school. I have worked across all year groups during my time in schools but more recently have been a year 3 teacher. Although I am confident in teaching all areas of the primary curriculum.
After initial assessment to see which areas we need to focus on and develop, I use a lot of manipulatives, (numicon, multilink, counters etc) we also do a my turn, our turn, your turn approach so that you can learn a method to solving a problem which you will then be able to go on to use independently.
