My son started with Helen after Christmas on A Level English Literature and has made good progress since then. Helen is very knowledgeable and has helped with trying to improve grades. We are very pleased with her work.

My daughter had only one lesson(Introductory lesson). She found the teaching style may not be effective in terms of her learning. Hence , we have decided not to proceed. This is fully an individual and personal experience.

Helen is an amazing tutor. She has really helped me in my preparation for my English Language A level despite my request being very short notice. She is patient, very good at explaining things you don't understand and she makes sure to make the student her priority. I would highly recommend her!

I have been tutoring with Helen for a couple of months now for my A Level English Literature exam. Helen has been tutoring my daughter for almost two years with GCSE English. Have seen a vast improvement during this time, with Helen helping to develop construct, composition and overall skills and abilities needed to excel in the subject. Helen is calm, friendly, approachable and dedicated in the subject.

What can I say! Helen has been committed to bringing out the best in my son. My son is a very smart boy but needed help and lots of practice with his written English. Helen does not mess about making it clear what her expectations are of him but also has a great sense of humour with him and these two things combined is exactly what was needed to increase his confidence level. He has now sat both of his GCSE English Literature papers and he has come home with a big smile on his face whereas before I don't think he was able to distinguish between whether he had written a good piece of work or not because he felt that all his written work was below par (even if it was not). The first lesson started to deal with the basics in English Literature which Eleni found very useful. She felt very strongly that Helen will be able to transform her understanding.

As a corporate Leader, my challenge was to break the status quo and come out confidently whilst dealing with the senior leadership team and the clients. I knew English but wasn't sure about how to formalise my rich content into the effective, executive communication.
I met Helen who infused a new way of thinking in me. She redefined my boundaries and created a tailor-made course which was purely focussed on my immediate communication challenges.

Helen believes in impromptu two ways feedback which ensures that students and tutor do not digress from their defined and agreed end objective. My current goal is fully met, but the long-term objective is yet to be addressed. The same I will achieve by taking additional lessons on a need basis as per my future client's interactions and the upcoming communication needs.

So far my daughter has been to three sessions with Helen .We find Helen to be vey knowledgeable and professional and would recommend her for English .We have noticed a difference in my daughter's written work and hope it will lead to improved GCSE grades.

Helen tutored my son to complete his GCSE assessment for English, having found her on the FirstTutors site, she went up and beyond our expectations to guide him to meet his target of completing a fairly complex piece of work comparing texts from two authors as per the boards requirements. This was done in only a week with a few sessions. We have decided to continue tutioning with her, not only because my son enjoys his sessions with her but also because her knowledge and teaching style can help my son with others areas of his GCSE study. I would highly recommend Helen to anyone needing English tutoring. Brilliant!!!

An excellent teacher whose lessons and whole approach to the subject is extremely well structured.

I have seen a marked improvement in the work generated by one of Helen's students. English was not the students first language and Helen has helped her with writing of business documents and identifying where errors may have occured and thinking through the solution before I have needed to point them out. This has greatly increased the students confidence and quality of work.

The tuition I received from Helen met my needs in every way. The lessons were delivered in a professional, yet friendly manner.
