Tutoring Experience

A highly experienced College Lecturer of 28+ years, Private Tutor and Trainer in the Commercial sector-designing and delivering bespoke staff training courses to improve communication skills.
Very passionate and enthusiastic about my subjects, I enjoy the challenge of helping students achieve their potential. I have worked at several colleges including West Herts College (11yrs) and Amersham & Wycombe College (6yrs).
Subjects taught include: Adult Access to HE, Language, Literature, Study Skills, Writing for Academic Purposes, Presentational skills. Levels range from GCSE, AS/A' levels and Access to HE. Plus Effective Communication skills in the Commercial sector.

Tutoring Approach

Everyone has the potential to succeed and I get a real sense of achievement helping students to achieve their goals.
However, I am a traditional tutor in that I expect the student to also work hard, fully commit, complete set work and prepare properly for lessons. Good 'Preparation' is everything.
I can give students the tools and show them how to use them but it is up to them to do the work :)
