Hi, I am a friendly and approachable local English teacher with over 10 years of wide ranging teaching experience. I have taught in comprehensive and grammar schools and also GCSE resit classes, adults and ESOL classes. I am a GCSE examiner, and always I enjoy working with teenagers and adults and can help you achieve in English and improve the skills that are holding you back.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English language and literature aged 11-18 for many years in local schools and tutor GCSE and KS3. I teach AQA, Eduqas, Edexcel and IGCSE exam boards and am a GCSE examiner. I have a track record of success with students that find English difficult or want to achieve high grades. I also teach ESOL if you are not from the UK and want to improve your spoken and written English.

Tutoring Approach

I have an individual approach that encourages a confidence parents notice. This helps all students achieve their potential, helping to break down the barriers to reading and writing so that students make progress and improve grades and performance in exams. I am very flexible, have taught most literature texts, enjoy getting to know students' interests, and adopt a 'can-do' approach.
