I'm Heidi, I trained to teach English as a foreign language in 1997 and since then have worked in Russia and the UK.I also have experience of the English primary school system I enjoy everything about teaching English from helping people to read to having discussions about serious topics. I am happy to teach adults or children.
I have taught English to people from all over the world both in the UK and abroad. My students have been all ages from children as young as 4 to adults in their 80s. Most classes have been general English but I have prepared students for their First Certificate and helped a student with his English GCSE. I have taught all aspects of English: speaking, listening, writing and reading. With regards to reading I have used a mixture of the phonics program used in schools as well as the whole word approach. I also enjoy teaching primary school level mathematics.
The first lesson will be a shorter informal assessment to find out the level of the student and what kind of lessons they want eg, general English or to prepare for an exam. Lessons will then be established on a day and time that will suit both the student and myself.
