I graduated in June 2024 with a 2.1 in History from the University of Aberdeen, and I am currently studying for an MLitt in Scottish Heritage with the University of Aberdeen. I also volunteer at the University of Aberdeen Collections and have previously volunteered for the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Council Archives.

Tutoring Experience

Due to my recent undergraduate experience, I have a good deal of knowledge both in terms of different eras and disciplines within history as well as how to approach university life in general. My volunteering experience has given me greater insight into broader avenues of research and how to approach primary sources in a more creative way.

Tutoring Approach

For Advanced Higher pupils, I will be focusing primarily on those who need advice on their dissertation, as well as guidance on whether applying to a History course is a right fit for them, and if so, where is a good university to attend for that individual. For university students, I am available to give a range of different advice. Regarding assessments, I can give advice to those who are struggling on how to improve their essays, how to find suitable primary sources for assessments and how to give university presentations. I am also available to give guidance on how to manage the workload as well as prospects after graduation.
