I am beyond enthusiastic about the study of ancient religion and the emerging theologies into present day. I understand that the study of religion is vital in understanding the social-cultural climate today and moving us into occupational sectors such as international-relations, historians, journalists and theologians just to name a few. Because of this, I am keen to pass on this interest and to help others understand religions in all their nuances; meaning the theological mechanisms behind their doctrines, their history and their engagement with the public sector.
My particular area of interest is ancient Israelite religion which gives rise to some of the most prominent religions today. In understanding religious traditions today and the way politics functions today, it is essential to have an awareness of their historical contexts. I am sympathetic to all religious traditions and love to help students develop their own voice and opinions whilst assisting them to progress their academic work.
I look forward to working with you!
As a student myself, I still hold 3 years tutoring experience.
I have adapted to the various needs and skills needed to be employed in teaching Music (both practical and theoretical) and the wide topic of religious studies.
I like to fully tailor my lessons to the needs of the students, whether that be to complement their current syllabus at school or other institution.
I can plan presentations to share both online or in person and can also work on essay skills with the students should they have challenging assignments.
I like to help draw out and develop students' own academic voice as a transferable skill to attaining a degree and work in the academic field. I do this by discussing various angles of religious contention or theological thought and integrate questions into the lessons to see student's thoughts on the topics. This is important for students in giving a nuanced account of poignant religious topics in their work and developing their confidence to voice their opinion.
