Hi I’m Harry, a masters student in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Cambridge.
I’m excited to start tutoring and hope to be a passionate and enthusiastic teacher in maths and physics, having studied both at A Level. I first realised I enjoyed teaching others during study sessions with friends whilst doing my A Levels. We would often discuss the content together, and it was engaging and rewarding to see concepts from another perspective, to think of different and simpler ways to explain them, and to share tips or analogies that helped me understand them better. I have also had some experience helping my younger brother with his GCSE work, and enjoyed revisiting the content and figuring out ways to explain new ideas in the context of what he had already learnt.
At the start of each session I will discuss a topic with the student, allowing them to ask any specific questions they have about it and me to identify any areas in which they might benefit from further revision. We will then go over those areas, starting with an explanation from the ground up and discussion, and then going through some exam-style questions together to ensure a thorough understanding of the topic. I would be able to tailor the sessions in advance to any specific topics the student would like to go over, or to just go with a general overview of the course. In later sessions we will revisit previous topics in the course to reinforce the concepts and content throughout the entire syllabus.
