Hi there, my name is Harry and I'm excited to be able to help with your studying. I am currently studying for a Masters degree in Chemistry at the University of Leeds, but my passion for this subject started long before, during my GCSEs, then into my A levels where I received an A*, A and a B in Chemistry, Physics and Psychology.
Outside of academia, I enjoy my exercise and fitness whenever is possible as I believe that being active is paramount to helping with studying as I find that it relieves a lot of stress and clears your mind of any worries.
For the majority of 2021, I volunteered at my Scout group where I taught kids how to play games as well as arts and crafts. I did this on a weekly basis with the assistance of other staff members and leaders. I also previously volunteered at my local Youth club where I'd supervise activities.
My approach to tutoring is that everyone learns differently and at their own pace. Therefore I believe its important that you have input into how you are taught, whether that's past paper exam questions where we go over exam technique; flashcards that can test quick recall; or simply going over content that you feel you aren't strong on.
Whether your in your first or second year of A levels, I can help. This means that AS or A level content can be covered and I can help with consolidating knowledge you've just learned or helping with revision techniques during mock or real exam season.
When I was studying Chemistry during my A levels, I didn't have the mathematic skills from studying an A level in maths to help me, as I was never the biggest fan of maths. I believe a lot of students also feel the same; so my approach means that the maths concepts necessary to progressing in A level Chemistry will be explained and practised at your pace.
I want my teaching to be helpful and insightful but also engaging so I want to give more control over what we do and how we do it to you, because you know best how you learn. I will help by giving ways in which I studied during my A levels. I believe that if we work out how to best help you learn and understand we'll both be the better for it.
