I am a highly experienced History teacher, specialising in A-Level tuition. I manage the education schools service at The National Archives, so bring a unique insight into working with historical sources. I have a First-class history degree and Masters. I have a track record of improving A-Level grades through one to one tuition. I recently presented at Schools History Project conference and have a detailed understanding of current history teaching.
I taught in History in secondary schools to students aged 11-18 very recently so am experience in teaching current A-Level exam boards. I now manage an award-winning education schools service at The National Archives, a treasure trove for historical documents. I teach workshops on a range of historical topics to students from KS1-5. This means I have unrivalled experience in teaching using historical sources.
My first priority is to ensure tutees have a solid grasp of the skills and understanding required to meet the requirements of their examination board. I will use a variety of resources, mark schemes, model answers and activities designed to strengthen student responses.
I have a flexible and creative teaching approach. I will adapt my tutoring to suit learning needs and styles.
I am committed to enthusing students about the past through a better understanding of historical sources.
