Dynamic, engaging and experienced teacher specialising in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), English as a Second Language ( ESL) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Passionate about education, languages and communication, I hold an MA in Education, International Development and Social Justice with distinction in my thesis, Cambridge (CELTA) Certificate in English Language Teaching qualifications and BA joint honours in Italian with French. I have lived , studied, worked and volunteered in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Kenya.

With over twenty-five years of experience in teaching, I am specialised in teaching English as a foreign or additional language.
I have taught learners of a wide range of abilities and ages in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Kenya, whose objectives have been to perfect or gain confidence in speaking and listening, reading, writing English or French for professional or academic purposes, functional skills, exam preparation, travel preparation or for the joy of language learning.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching methods and techniques are unique. As a learner-centred tutor, my students are my starting point and I adapt my teaching according to their needs, goals, interests and profile. I am creative, responsive and passionate about enabling learners to succeed and gain confidence. I engage and motivate my learners by tailoring my teaching strategies and materials to ensure effective, specialised tutorial support. I adapt to the different learning styles of my learners and am committed to individualised teaching.
Achievements: my learners gain confidence in communicating which impacts on their motivation and achievement in other areas. Some have gone on to achieve remarkable results, including becoming qualified doctors, nurses, dentists, researchers, teachers and teaching assistants, lawyers. Recently, a university student improved her grade in English by 40% and scored 90% in an oral presentation.
