I am a Qualified Maths Teacher (obtained PGDE in Mathematics from UCL) with a 1st class degree in Mathematics (BSc Hons from Queen Mary University of London).

I have been tutoring mathematics for 12+ years and
have extensive experience in all three major UK exam boards for GCSE and A-Level Maths: Edexcel, OCR & AQA.

My experience also extends to 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, covering both major exam boards: GL and CEM

I can also support with MAT - (Mathematics Admissions Test) which is required for a number of mathematic related degrees at University of Oxford, Imperial College London and University of Warwick.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in tuition centres before as well as providing one to one/group home based tuition (both online and in-person). I also worked full time at a secondary school, specialising in mathematics across KS3/KS4 (Year 7-11).

I have supported students with 11+ entrance exams with successful outcomes for Ilford County and Wycombe High School. 11+ preparation includes going over the key areas: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Comprehension.

Tutoring Approach

I provide a tailored approach for each student ensuring various learning styles are adapted to and the level they are working at is considered.

Typically, the first lesson consists of going through an assessment/past paper to identify strengths and weaknesses. Following this, I create a detailed plan to ensure weak points are covered so that time is used efficiently.

Once content is covered, focusing on exam style questions and implementing continuous tests is key for retaining information and encouraging students to continuously revise.

I also set homework weekly to allow students to practice further and master the topic.

I am willing to travel to the students house if it is local otherwise online tuition will be more convenient. Online tuition has proven to be very effective with many students achieving high grades and scores as a result.
