I am currently a student at the University of Birmingham studying Dental Therapy and Hygiene. I have undertaken A levels in biology psychology and Punjabi and have received many GCSE qualifications. I feel as though i have good techniques to ensure students can learn understand and get grades 7 and 8s and A and a stars and also at any level ensure they are able to understand and do any tasks and questions they are given on their subject well.

Tutoring Experience

I am very good with knowledge in both psychology and biology for years 10,11,12 and 13. I have tutored students for biology in year 10 and 11 for GCSES which has resulted in grades A and above and also have been tutoring year 12 and 13 students in biology seeing results in their mock and school examinations.
Younger students in year 8 and 9 whose schools do teach biology i have also tutored and helped these students in understanding knowledge and doing work and tasks set by teachers.

I have also tutored students in year 12 with psychology, helping them with structuring points and giving them information, tips and examples of essays and points to know so they can apply this to each examination. I have made psychology easier for my students they need to just learn and understand points i present based on their examinations.
I have had year 11 and 10 students and helped tutor in english literature as i enjoy this and have made this subject easier for them resulting in their grades averaging to 7 and 8s
I also have experience with younger students with subjects such as maths and english as my a levels and my degree involve these subjects so i am able to tutor students in these areas.
I have also tutored students in punjabi once again giving easy tricks that help immensely when learning the subject

Tutoring Approach

In my lessons i will initially have discussed with the student where they are in terms of learning how much they have covered and understand.
I will then make a plan based on the student, where we will focus and prioritise on topics and ensure that no matter what topic comes up, having understood and practised many questions, they will be able to answer questions on variety of topics.
Any specific struggles the student may have such as homework, unable to understand concepts etc i will be able to have sessions explaining and ensuring the student is able to answer questions on these areas after helping teach them.
Depending on the subject and the age range the teaching style will vary however all will ensure students are understanding what they need to learn to progress and be competent for exams.
