Online Psychology Teacher

I am an assistant professor of psychology in the UK (PhD, MEd and BSc in Psychology). I have been in full time employment as an academic in the UK and the US at the university level for the last 7 years. I am an experienced researcher with over 30 peer reviewed publications in areas relating to developmental psychology, atypical development, social psychology and educational psychology.

Tutoring Experience

I have significant experience in teaching psychology, with past roles including the programme leader for the BSc Honors Program in psychology and programme leader in foundations in Psychology. I have taught at three UK universities and one US university. I specialise in developmental and atypical developmental psychology as well as qualitative and mixed methods approaches to researching psychology.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring in psychology centers on fostering critical thinking, active engagement, and independent learning. I aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore complex theories, question assumptions, and connect psychological concepts to real-world contexts. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and evidence-based practices, I help students deepen their understanding beyond memorization. I also emphasize developing strong research skills and reflective practice, empowering students to become confident, self-directed learners who can apply psychological knowledge both academically and professionally. I am particularly passionate about working with students with special educational needs, drawing on my own research on this topic and my past experience as a counsellor for students with additional learning needs.
