I am a retired mathematician having spent my career in mathematical software.
I now tutor maths up-to GCSE-level, and love trying to pass my knowledge of the subject on to my students.
Tutoring maths at KS2, KS3, KS4 and Functional levels since 2020.
Some tuition at A-level and degree-level though my expertise at these levels is incomplete as a few years have passed since getting good qualifications at these levels !)
Some face-to-face, but mostly online.
I like to choose a topic that the student has difficulty with, unless the student wishes to focus on something specific.
I will then generate a variety of questions around that topic, and work through them with the student during a session.
Currently i use Zoom with the student having remote control, which enables us both to view/edit the same document simultaneously.
I prefer to set some homework to be done between sessions. I like to use a shared GoogleDoc for this, which enables me to see how the student is getting on, mark any work and provide hints and assistance to aid the learning process.
I like to think that i'm a very patient tutor.
My preferred time for sessions is early morning 7-9am or after-school 4-6.30pm ( seven days a week ).
