Experienced GCSE to A-level maths and further maths tutor with 3000+ hours of tuition and hundreds of happy students. Although I cannot a certain grade, we will be building confidence in maths from day 1.
I am a full time professional tutor and have been since graduating from the University of Warwick where I achieved a first-class integrated masters degree in mathematics. I mostly specialise in GCSE and A-level maths but I have experience teaching maths to students from KS2 all the way to university level, that is, from Year 3 upwards. Whether you are looking to learn the necessary content, prepare for exams, or just build some confidence, I am confident I can help you!
If you are interested, send me a message and we can discuss your situation. The majority of my experience has been online, so I know my way around an online whiteboard as well. I currently use Google Meet, but I am open to using other resources if you so desire.
Whether you're freaked out by fractions or irked by integration, my sessions will help you understand why we do what we do in maths. I'll explain key concepts in different ways and whichever way stands out more for you, we'll follow that route. I'm patient and down to earth and no matter the subject matter, there will be a way which sticks for you.
All my sessions are tailored to each individual student. Some lessons will start with me teaching the core concepts and addressing any concerns whilst others mainly focus on practice questions. For those that need guiding a bit more we will usually have an example question for each style of question in that topic which we will analyse together. Next I will have lots of questions for the student to test the same concept and get more familiar with the process. These questions are either from past papers or created by myself. I have a huge bank of questions so we'll never run out! If there's time I'll bring in some challenging questions into the lesson space that will stretch you and really solidify your understanding.
Towards the end of most sessions, we'll review the material making sure it is understood 100%. If there are any problems, we'll recap the topic as a starter the next week to keep all the key ideas in your head. Extra questions can be set and attempted ready to review for the following session.
