I have over 20 years experience teaching French up to A Level at James Allen's Girls' School and throughout my career I have consistently achieved A and A* grades for my pupils. I have a First Class Honours Degree in French and Italian from Sussex University, a PGCE from Homerton Cambridge and A-Level Spanish. I am English married to an Italian and I enjoy travelling, keeping fit and sketching.
I taught French and Italian at James Allen's Girls' School in London for 23 years and French and Spanish at Worth School in Sussex this year. I teach AQA GCSE and A Level French and I have also taught IGCSE French. I also teach Key Stage 3 Spanish and Italian. I have conducted and marked public examinations at GCSE and A-Level and tutored both children and adults privately in person and online using Zoom or Microsoft teams.
I prepare lessons tailored to the individual with a variety of fast paced, enjoyable activities to keep pupils engaged and ensure they progress quickly. I use the latest authentic audio visual resources to accelerate learning and encourage spontaneous language use throughout the lesson. I ensure my students have all the vocabulary, grammatical structures and speaking, writing, listening and reading skills necessary for success. At GCSE and A-Level I do lots of practice examination style questions with my pupils to build their confidence and ensure they master the technique under the pressure of examinations.
