I have finished a PhD in Civil Engineering and completed a PGCE in July 2010. Before this, I spent five and a half years in the financial sector with a FTSE 100 company. I am sporty and musical, singing in a summer choir, and have played saxophone for 20 years. In addition, I have a passion for French and Maths, and these are the subjects that I have studied to degree level, and in some cases, beyond.
PGCE in Mathematics. Presently teaching in an inner city school in Leeds. I have taught, prepared and delivered lessons to pupils at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and beyond in mathematics, and have done personal tuting for pupils in statistics for pupils at Master's level.
I have been a tutor for various pupils for GCSE mathematics and French, and have helped undergraduates prepare for French examinations, particularly oral examinations. I have also taught undergraduate (university) laboratories in Civil Engineering, Mathematics and IT.
I am flexible in the style for the student - this is to be discussed with the student on the first meeting. The purpose is for the student to present work that they require particular help on during their learning and for me to offer alternative ways in which to teach a particular method.
