Online English Tuition

I’m currently studying Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick, but my academic roots are firmly grounded in English Literature. I achieved an A* in English Literature at A-level and a grade 9 at GCSE, and I’ve continued to pursue my love of literature through university modules and extracurricular projects. I’m passionate about language, expression, and helping students discover the richness of literature—whether that’s through poetry, novels, or essay writing.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve previously worked as a one-to-one GCSE English tutor through Dorset Council, supporting students with both Language and Literature. I currently write for several student and national publications and serve as a contributing editor for Warwick Uncanny, a student-led literary magazine. In this role, I help writers develop their work into polished, publishable pieces—often guiding them on structure, clarity, and voice. My wider experience in journalism and research has taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly and adapt my tone and style to different audiences. I bring this same flexibility and insight into tutoring, always tailoring my approach to meet each student’s individual needs and learning style.

Tutoring Approach

I take a mindful and personalised approach to tutoring. Every student learns differently, and I believe great teaching starts by listening. I work to build a calm and supportive space where students feel safe to express themselves, ask questions, and take creative risks. Whether it’s Shakespeare, unseen poetry, or essay planning, I break down complex material in a way that feels manageable and even enjoyable. I’ve found that progress comes when students not only understand the text, but begin to connect it to their own world—making literature feel alive and relevant.
