Geoffrey

Hi, my name is Geoffrey.

I would like to help young people regain their confidence in maths so that they can go onto achieve the highest grades. When I was going into my final year of school, this was my experience - I worked hard to turn an average expected grade into an A* in GCSE and an A in A level. This enabled me to attend the University of Manchester, where I graduated a degree in Management.

I've subsequently spent my career in education, working in Dubai to run training programmes and I'm now based in London where I work for an education charity.

I plan to go into teaching in the next couple of years so I want to build upon my experience through tutoring.

I cook, read and enjoy most sports, particularly football and tennis.

Tutoring Experience

I have 9 years of professional experience in the education industry, including running entrepreneurship courses for University students. I specalise in tutoring math, so I can maintain a very high level of subject knowledge; particularly relating to the AQA and Edexcel exam specifications. I have gained a lot of experience engaging and coaching young people, where I have learnt vital people skills that make a big difference in tutoring.

Tutoring Approach

I first aim to understand your goals and the level your child is currently at, so we can see what we need to work on. This is achieved through discussing what they have covered against the syllabus so far, through student's own feedback and by using a number of specifically designed assessment questions. Each lesson will then be specifically created to the student's individual needs, so that they have the best chance of getting to their goal.
